About Us:
Sweet Tree Sustainable Sweeteners was created by a few people who are passionate about sustainability, health, fair trade practices and good food! And our team that helps run the company and promote the product are just as passionate about everything we believe in.
Sweet Tree is a brand that was started by Ben & Blair Ripple, founders of Big Tree Farms and Frederick Schilling, founder of Dagoba Organic Chocolate.
Big Tree Farms is a company that was founded by Ben & Blair in 2005. The mission is to work directly with farmers around the Indonesian archipelago, building supply chains and bringing the exotic foods of Indonesia to the world market. To learn the whole story, click here.
Frederick met Ben at the Natural Food Expo some years ago and they quickly realized they were Blue Monkey brothers and shared the same passions regarding working with farmers, fair trade practices, transparency, integrity, exotic foods and having fun! So, Frederick jumped in and become partners with Ben & Blair in Big Tree Farms late in 2009, out of the intrigue, respect and belief in what they had developed in that far exotic corner of the world.
In December of 2007, Frederick, Blair and Ben were traveling on the Indonesian island of Lombok when news came out about the glycemic index studies that were conducted by the Philippine Food and Nutrition Research Institute. *
What the FNRI learned is that coconut palm sugar has one of the lowest glycemic index levels of any sweetener in the world! This wasn't just a light bulb that went off in our heads, there were fireworks!
Upon further research, we also learned the nutritional value of coconut palm sugar was one of the highest, if not THE highest of any sweetener on the market.
And then we learned that the FAO has named coconut palm sugar "the most sustainable sweetener in the world"!
The fireworks kept on exploding and the Bintangs kept on opening.
Big Tree Farms had already developed the world's first certified organic supply chain of coconut palm sugar for their beautiful artisan line of products, so we quickly realized that it was our duty to get the word out to the world about this incredible sweetener.

Sweet Tree Sustainable Sweeteners was born (our dear friend Ana Neff coined the brand name) and we launched this amazing product nationally in late 2008.
It is quickly becoming recognized as the superior alternative sweetener for the health conscious consumer in the natural food industry.
Not only are consumers quickly making the switch from agave, other alternative sweeteners and traditional sweeteners, but progressive manufacturers are also calling us daily to inquire about "the next big sweetener".
This is such an exciting time for all of us involved in Sweet Tree. As any new product, it always takes time and a lot of hard work to get the word out. Yet, once word starts spreading and friends start telling friends who tell more friends who tell their parents, a movement is born. We are thankful that we are helping bring this incredible sweetener to the world at large, as the movement has started and all of us who use this incredible sweetener are participants in a wonderful movement.
Our goal is to make coconut palm sugar a household product! It's the healthiest whole sweetener on the market, it's the most sustainable sweetener in the world, it tastes amazing and it's affordable.
Seems to us everyone should start using organic coconut palm nectar for their sweetening needs.
So help us spread the word!
Thank you for your support,
Ben, Blair, Frederick & the rest of the Sweet Tree team.
